How much is the incentive?

The MileageSmart Incentive is worth 25% of the initial price of the vehicle (excluding taxes and registration fees), up to $5,000. 

The remaining cost of the car can be paid with a trade-in, cash, financed, or a combination of all three.

  • Incentives cannot be applied on retroactive purchases

  • Incentives must be applied at the point of sale

  • Incentives are limited to one per individual over the life of the program

  • Participants must obtain ownership of the high efficiency vehicle for a minimum of 12 months (1 year) from the time the vehicle was sold

Do you receive 3Squares/SNAP benefits?

If you receive 3Squares/SNAP benefits, the MileageSmart incentive is worth $5,000 off the initial sale price of an eligible vehicle (excluding taxes and registration fees).

Vermont Electric Utility Incentives

Depending on your utility service area, you may be eligible for a utility incentive. If you do not receive an electric bill from a utility for your household, you can use this map to determine your utility provider.

Burlington Electric Department

BED is offering customers a $1,300 rebate on a used all-electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. An additional $200 is available for low to moderate income customers. BED also offers a $700 rebate for single-family homeowners installing level 2 EV charging equipment and a discounted off-peak EV charging rate. Multifamily charging rebates for apartments and condos are also available.

Green Mountain Power

GMP is offering customers a $1,500 incentive on a used all-electric vehicle or $750 on a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. An additional $1,000 is available for income eligible customs purchasing all-electric vehicles. GMP will also provide free at home level 2 EV charging equipment for purchasers of a new or used all-electric vehicle and discounted off-peak EV charging rates are available.

Stowe Electric Department is offering customers a $300 rebate on a used all-electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. An additional $300 is available for low to moderate income customers.

VEC is offering customers a $500 bill credit on a used all-electric vehicle or $250 on a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Income eligible customers receive an additional $250 toward a used all-electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

VPPSA is offering customers of qualifying municipal electric utilities a rebate of $500 on a used all-electric vehicle or $250 for a used plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
